Oro Ōrākei: Sound Walk

On Sunday 26 May the Ōrākei Basin will come alive with sound.

The Audio Foundation presents Oro Orakei – an experiential sound walk featuring live performers and sound installations along the Orakei Basin walkway.

Listen to sounds created by a variety of local sound artists and musicians in response to the unique environment of the Basin. With lakeside instrumentalists, floating and hanging sculptures, Taonga Puoro in the bush, gongs on the water and more – each work will inspire new ways of perceiving – where one can choose to stay and listen or walk on to the next point for a new experience.

The sound walk will be a fun and interesting way to experience the lagoon and the Walkway, while offering attendees an opportunity to engage with the environment in a unique and immersive way.
